Intruder Shot Dead in Utah

Utah might be known for a lot of things, but let it be known that we have guns and know how to use them.  Some dirt bag broke into a home in Springville, Utah during the night, woke up a man and woman and demanded they take him to an ATM for their money.  The intruder claimed he had a gun.  Three children were sleeping in the other room.  The homeowner went to his closet under the pretense of getting his close, but instead grabbed a gun and shot the intruder in the chest.  By the time law enforcement arrived, the intruder was dead.  Simply a matter of taking away the trash at that point.

This is the kind of stuff I love to read in the news.  I think we should give this man some type of reward.  He did us all a favor.  Thank you for handling this for us and taking care of the problem.  I, for one, appreciate it.  You just did what had to be done.  Your protected your family and your home.

Too often we read of the opposite happening.  Dirt bag breaks into the home and plunders, rapes, and murders the occupants because they were not willing and able to defend themselves.  This is because, “Most of the people in our society are sheep. They are kind, gentle, productive creatures who can only hurt one another by accident.” (Dave Grossman)

But not all of us are sheep.  Some of us won’t simply roll over and be a victim.  See some of us “walk the warrior’s path, and [have made] a conscious and moral decision every day to dedicate, equip and prepare [ourselves] to thrive in that toxic, corrosive moment when the wolf comes knocking at the door.”  (Dave Grossman)   So if you’re a criminal, sociopath, child molester, or in general “do that which is evil, be afraid; for [we] beareth not the sword in vain” (Romans 13:4) and we’ll shoot you down in a heartbeat.
